SCHOOL VISITS TO PLACES OF WORSHIP IN BIRMINGHAM

Welcome
Introduction
The Arts Society Birmingham has collaborated with six principal places of worship in the city, along with other organisations, to create resources for children 8-13 years, to support actual or virtual visits to places of worship.
For each religion there are three short films, a four page illustrated guide and a quiz. There are also a range of follow-up activities.

The resources can be used free of charge.

Watch the Introductory video for an overview of the resources. Use the navigation at the top of the page to access resources for each religion.

Acknowledgements
Due to generous financial support from Westhill Endowment and West Midlands Arts Society, the Arts Society Birmingham (TASB) successfully negotiated the use of video material produced by VYKA Ltd for the Birmingham Faith Encounter programme in 2014. From 2019 to 2022 volunteers from TASB liaised with VYKA Ltd to produce new material for: Birmingham Buddhist Vihara, St Phillips Cathedral Birmingham and Central Mosque Birmingham.
For each of the six places of worship, three short videos compatible for classroom use have been created. TASB volunteers also produced illustrated guides and quizzes.
In 2022, TASB won the Westhill Endowment Walmsley Award for the School Visits to Places of Worship project. We are grateful to the help and support received from over 100 people in the creation of these resources.
